c <br />Vacuum extraction techniques shall be employed during the Design Development phase <br />once utility interference questions have been evaluated to determine vertical position of <br />utilities at four to five locations (1 day's work). These vacuum extractions will be <br />performed where the Consultant's Design Team has determined critical position data <br />must be obtained. Hole repairs will be done to the City's satisfaction. All data obtained <br />shall be added to a special layer/layers in the Topographic Survey CAD File. <br />4.2 Topographic Survey Enhancement <br />This work to include: <br />• Obtaining Caltrans Encroachment Permit for field work <br />• Calling USA to mark utilities <br />• Obtaining utility company as-builts and Caltrans utility drawings <br />• Field survey enhancement of City-provided Topographic Survey <br />• Verifying the location of underground utilities per ASCE Standard 38-02, <br />"Standard Guidelines for the Collection and Depiction of Existing Subsurface <br />Utility Data", Quality Level G as enhanced by limited vacuum extraction work <br />and limited field location work. <br />• Establish control for survey for 2410 LF of mapping. <br />• Obtain and process topographic/utility data for 241Q LF of street into base map of <br />survey. <br />4.3 Design Development <br />Contractor shall prepare 30% complete construction documents for the project. The <br />layout sheets shall show the utilities and improvements in screened background for <br />coordination purposes. Outline specifications shall be provided. Estimates of probable <br />construction costs shall be provided with the work defined by smallest reasonable project <br />to meet City budgetary constraints.
