also determine existing street elevations at critical corners and crossings. Existing surface <br />features in the project area will also be field surveyed. <br />Task IV Coordination with Utility Companies <br />The Contractor will participate with the City to contact and coordinate with affected utility <br />agencies and other parties to identify and reconcile any constraints that may affect construction. <br />This task will be ongoing throughout the project, beginning with Task I. <br />Task V Base Mapping <br />This Task involves coordination of all data-gathering efforts associated with the project, <br />including information obtained from staff, the topographic survey, utility research, and field <br />reconnaissance. The goal of this Task is to prepare an accurate base plan for use in creating the <br />Design Development documents. <br />The Contractor will review information made available by the City since the work on the <br />Connections Plan was completed. In particular, the City will provide the Contractor all available <br />existing information that will directly relate to project implementation, such as: <br />• Geotechnical data. <br />• Location of utilities and drainage systems. <br />• Existing locations and plans for traffic signage and signalization systems. <br />• Assessors property maps <br />• Location, quantity and need for on-street parking, red zones, and other street parking zones. <br />• Existing streetscape and plantings, including a tree inventory, if available. <br />• Sidewalk condition and replacement surveys and requirements. <br />• Existing streetscape amenities and furniture that may be retained. <br />The Contractor will prepare digital base maps suitable for preparation of Design Development <br />and Construction documents. <br />Task VI Preliminary Design Development Documents <br />The purpose of this Task is to prepare Design Development (DD) documents for the Monarch <br />Bay Drive project in sufficient detail to define all aspects of the project prior to preparation of <br />Construction Documents that may occur in subsequent phases with additional authorization. <br />Task VL1: Revised Design <br />Based on the comments received in the meetings held during Task I, the Contractor will revise <br />the concepts described in the Connections Plan and prepare a preferred design for final approval <br />by the City. <br />Task VL2: City review <br />The Contractor will review the revised design concept with the City. <br />Task VL2a: Confirmation of Preferred Plan (If Required) <br />The Contractor will provide the Preferred Plan to City staff for presentation to the City Council <br />in a work session for review and input.
