Section 39. Miscellaneous <br />39.1 Participation in the City's deferred compensation plan <br />shall be voluntary on the part of the employee; and that <br />any and all contributions toward such plan shall be paid <br />entirely by the employee. <br />39.2 For those eligible and required employees, the City <br />agrees to continue to pay for the cost of getting and <br />maintaining a pesticide/herbicide application <br />certificate. <br />39.3 The City agrees to pay the cost of written and medical <br />examinations for those employees who are required to <br />obtain and maintain a Class B Driver's License. <br />39.4 Standby Pay <br />A. Public Works Employees <br />Employees assigned to the water pollution control <br />plant who are required to standby from 4:00 p.m. to <br />8:00 a.m. shall be, paid at the rate of one(1) hour <br />straight time based on the employee's regular hourly <br />rate. The employee may elect to take compensatory <br />time off in an amount equal to one (1) hours <br />straight time in lieu of pay. Such assignments <br />typically will be made on a Saturday, Sunday and/or <br />holiday. Employee's assigned to standby from 8 a.m. <br />to 8 p.m. shall be paid at the rate of two (2) hours <br />of straight time based on the employee's regular <br />hourly rate. The employee may elect to take <br />compensatory time off in an amount equal to two (2) <br />hours straight time in lieu of pay. Such <br />assignments shall typically be made on a Saturday, <br />Sunday and/or holiday. <br />Employees assigned to the public works services <br />department - electrical section, who are required to <br />standby from 3:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. Monday through <br />Friday shall receive, for each period of standby, <br />one (1) hour of straight time pay based on the <br />employee's regular hourly rate of pay. Employee's <br />shall receive two (2) hours of straight time pay for <br />each Saturday, Sunday, and holiday of required <br />standby. <br />39 <br />
