Business and Housing Development Committee Meeting of July 9, 2009. Accepted as submitted. Councilmember Prola commented that he concurred with the recommendation to enter into an Exclusive Negotiating Rights Agreement with Innisfree Companies, and he commended the Committee for its choice. Recommendation for City Council Consideration: a. Schedule adoption of an 18-month Exclusive Negotiating Rights Agreement with the Imusfree Companies for the development of 1550 East 14~' Street and Town Hall Square. By consensus, the City Council approved this recommendation. 2. Shoreline-Marina Committee: Shoreline Development Citizens Advisory Committee Meeting of June 17, 2009. Accepted as submitted. 12. CITY COUNCIL COMI~~NTS Councilmember Reed thanked the Police Department for the response to an auto accident involving her mother at East 14th and Davis Streets. Councilmember Reed expressed her appreciation to Councilmember Souza. for her comment at last Monday's work session. Councilmember Reed agreed with Councilmember Souza's comment that work sessions are best used by the Council as a forum to discuss and work through issues together, rather than purely for presentation and lecture. She expressed interest in having work sessions on ranked choice voting and Measure WW in September. Vice Mayor Starosciak agreed with Councilmember Reed's idea to hold a work session on Measure WW, and suggested that it be the only item on the work session agenda. Vice Mayor Starosciak attended the kickoff meeting for the I-580 sound wall project; the Bay Trail Slough Bridge groundbreaking; the San Leandro Aquatics Center Hawaiian Pool Party and the Day at the Casa, Vice Mayor Starosciak requested that tonight's meeting be adjourned in memory of Marie Underwood, a passionate San Leandro activist for many years; and in memory of Dan Niemi, the San Leandro police officer who was killed in the line of duty four years ago. Councilmember Prola commented that he attended the I-580 sound wall meeting; the Chamber of Commerce's Coffee Connection and Government Affairs Committee meeting; the Alameda County Board of Supervisors' meeting on San Leandro Hospital; the retirement reception for Device Moughon, the Mayor's Executive Assistant; the San Leandro Sports Foundation meeting; and the Democratic Club picnic. Councilmember Prola spoke at the groundbreaking of the Bay Trail Slough Bridge. Regarding the Coffee Connection, Councilmember Prola remarked that he was impressed by the many positive people in the group, given the state of the economy.
