Administrative Code Related to ADA/Section 504 2 November 2, 2009 <br />received a complaint about its practice of resolving ADA or Section 504 complaints <br />administratively through the City Manager's Office and the department involved in the <br />complaint, a more formalized form and procedure have been drafted. Both of these measures <br />fulfill the City's agreement with FHEO. <br />Current City Council Policy <br />The City's ADA Coordinator and Grievance Policy were identified in the City's 1995 Self <br />Evaluation Plan, which is in need of updating. <br />Previous City Council Action(s) <br />In 1995, the City Council approved the City's ADA Self Evaluation Plan. <br />Summary of Public Outreach Efforts <br />While these additions to the City's Administrative Code do not require public review at this time, <br />the City is currently in the process of updating its ADA Transition Plan and will be updating its <br />ADA Self Evaluation Plan in the coming months. Both of these update processes will include <br />outreach to the community for input and recommendations. <br />Fiscal Impact <br />None. Staff assigned to these duties will absorb these functions as part of their normal <br />assignments. <br />Attachments <br />ADA/Section 504 Grievance Form and Procedure <br />CONCLUSION <br />It is recommended that new sections be added to the San Leandro Administrative Code relating <br />to City staff' assignments as City's Coordinators for the Americans with Disabilities Act and <br />Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, as well as the City's Reasonable Accommodation Policy <br />and Grievance Policy related to ADA and Section 504. <br />
