The multi- <br />tenant building located at 140 - 144 Joaquin Avenue completed an approximately <br />$65,000 facade improvement which included paint, new windows, signage, etc. <br />Lukes Grill upgraded their appearance with new doors, fresh paint and decorative <br />planters. The Redevelopment Agency contributed to all of these projects. <br />The Agency, with the assistance of architects, developed designs and cost <br />estimates to assist properties in upgrading their facades. The Express Liquors <br />design includes replacing the bars on the window with a roll up security system, <br />new doors, signage and awnings. The Asia DelighUSandwitchery building design <br />includes new signage, paint, lighting and window treatment. The Liberty Tax <br />building at East 14th Street and Joaquin Avenue design included new awnings, <br />paint and signage. Implementation of these design upgrades remains a priority for <br />the Agency. <br />Implementation of the Downtown San Leandro "We Are San Leandro" marketing <br />campaign continued. Staff and campaign representatives attended the October <br />2008 International Conference of Shopping Centers Western Division conference <br />in San Diego and created a buzz about San Leandro. The six people postcards <br />were distributed in 2008, and people magnets, which include the <br />DowntownSanLeandro.com website address were created for distribution in 2009. <br />Development of the DowntownSanLeandro.com continued adding additional <br />features such as testimonials, property and tenant information. The website <br />received 11,268 hits in FY 2008-09. <br />e Agency demolished the building at 262 Davis Street preparing the site for <br />nporary replacement parking while the downtown parking garage is demolished <br />d a new and larger garage is constructed.
