Alameda County Transportation Improvement Authority
Special Transportation for Seniors and People with Disabilities
• What needs or priorities have been identified that will be met by proposed service
changes?
What needs or priorities will still not be met even after implementing proposed service
changes?
How many potential riders do you estimate will use this service this coming fiscal year?
Response•
Needs/Priorities that will be met after implementing proposed services changes:
1. By eliminated the CTC service and expanding the Shuttle Service, we reduce
program costs and provide the greatest number of rides possible through the most cost
effective service.
2. The MSL grant for medical transportation will allow the City to serve critical medical
transportation needs.
Needs/Priorities that will not be met after implementing proposed services changes:
1. Elimination of the CTC reservation based service will impact less ambulatory riders
who use the service for non-medical needs.
2. Several workshop participants suggested that we keep both services and reduce the
number of days and hours based on peak usage. Unfortuately, this scenerio does not
achieve the needed costs savings.
FY 2010-11 Rider Estimates:
• 1600 Registered Riders
• 200 Unduplicated Riders
Is your program currently meeting the Minimum Service Levels? (See appendix)
^ Yes. ®No. ^ N/A -ADA-Mandated Provider.
If your answer is "No", which ones are you not meeting and how?
Response•
1. PROGRAM SERVICE AREA -Residents using this program are able to meet life needs,
including but not limited to major medical facilities, full service grocery stores and other
basic necessities if ADA services, or coordination between base programs are unable to
provide these trips.
The San Leandro Paratransit Service operates within the City limits. Trips for out of town
medical trips have been provided through a MSL grant. San Leandro has a wide range of
services and amenities that allows residents to meet the majority of critical life needs within
G:\Oliver\Paratransit\FY 2010-11\MB Annual Program Application Cover FYIOI l.doc
Page 10 of 17
