Bay Trail Slough Bridge -Project Acceptance 3 July 6, 2010 <br />• On February 2, 2009, by Resolution No. 2009-012, the City Council authorized the City <br />Manager to enter into a maintenance and operations agreement with EBRPD for the <br />completed project <br />• On February 2, 2009, by Resolution No. 2009-013, the City Council approved plans and <br />specifications and called for bids on the subject project <br />• On April 6, 2009, by Resolution No. 2009-048, the City Council approved a Contractual <br />Services Agreement with Mark Thomas & Company, Inc. to provide construction support <br />services for the subject project <br />• On May 4, 2009, by Resolution No. 2009-061, the City Council awarded construction of the <br />project to RGW Construction, Inc., the lowest responsible bidder <br />• On June 1, 2009, by Resolution No. 2009-071, the City Council approved a Contractual <br />Services Agreement with Applied Materials & Engineering to provide special inspection <br />services for the subject project <br />• On April 5, 2010, by Resolution No. 2010-039, the City Council approved naming the Bay <br />Trail Bridge the `Bill Lockyer Bay Trail Bridge' <br />Applicable General Plan Policy <br />• Goal 14 Bicycle and Pedestrian Circulation: Promote and accommodate alternative, <br />environmentally-friendly methods of transportation, such as walking and bicycling <br />• Policy 14.01--Citywide Bikeway System: Develop and maintain a citywide bikeway system <br />that effectively serves residential areas, employment centers, schools, parks, and multi-modal <br />terminals <br />• Action 14.O1B--Capital Improvement Scheduling: Maintain a schedule of capital <br />improvement priorities in the City's Bikeway Plan (Plan), and update this schedule as <br />projects are completed and additional funds become available. Capital projects should be <br />developed in accordance with the design standards and priorities identified in the Plan <br />• Policy 14.02--Funding: Aggressively pursue state and federal funding for bicycle and <br />pedestrian improvements, while also including funding for bicycle and pedestrian <br />improvements in the City's Capital Improvement Program <br />• Policy 18.02--Capital Improvements: Identify capital improvements and other measures that <br />improve the safety of bicyclists, pedestrians, and motor vehicles on San Leandro streets <br />• Policy 18.05--Funding: Pursue grants for the improvement of pedestrian, bicycle, and motor <br />vehicle safety.
