ITEMS REMOVED FROM CONSENT CALENDAR <br /> <br />Public comments are limited to 3 minutes per speaker per item, subject to adjustment by the <br />Mayor. <br /> <br />8.D. <br />California (opposes the proposed Early Childhood Education Budget reductions in the <br />State FY 2010-11 budget revisions). <br /> <br />Councilmember Stephens commented that this is a worthy item; however, he is <br />concerned that the City would be telling the State where it should not make cuts, but not <br />where it should make budget cuts. <br /> <br />Councilmember Prola commented that, while symbolic, this action is important. He <br />pointed to alternatives the State could choose rather than making the proposed child <br />care service cuts. <br /> <br /> Resolution No. 2010-082 <br />Child Care Services in California (opposes the proposed Early Childhood <br />Education Budget reductions in the State FY 2010-11 budget revisions). <br /> <br />M/S/C Prola and Reed.
