POTENTIALLY
ISSUES POTENTIALLY SIGNIFICANT LESS THAN NO
SIGNIFICANT UNLESS SIGNIFICANT IMPACT SOURCES
ISSUES MITIGATION IMPACT
INCORPORATED
d. Interfere substantially with the movement of an X 2, 5, 7
resident or migratory fish or wildlife species or
with established native resident or migratory
wildlife corridors, or impede the use of native
wildlife nurse sites?
e. Conflict with any local policies or ordinances X 2, 5, 7
protecting biological resources, such as a tree
reservation olic or ordinance?
f. Conflict with the provisions of an adopted X 2, 5, 7
Habitat Conservation Plan, Natural
Community Conservation Plan or other
approved local, regional, or state habitat
conservation lan?
EXPLANATION: With the exception of San Leandro Creek, which forms the project area's northern boundary, the project area can
be described as an urbanized environment, with a majority of the acreage already developed with buildings and/or covered with
paving of some sort. According to the existing General Plan and the Final EIR for Expansion of the City of San Leandro Plaza 2
Redevelopment Project, there are no identified sensitive or endangered species or habitat within the project area. The Revitalization
Strategy includes site development plans and illustrations of recommended in-fill development projects, and design guidelines that
the City and Redevelopment Agency may use to review future development proposals for the specific sites in question. Because both
the General Plan and the Final EIR for Expansion of the City of San Leandro Plaza 2 Redevelopment Project include policies for
protection and guidelines for development within proximity to San Leandro Creek, staff anticipates that any future development
proposals would have less than significant impacts on biological resources.
7. MINERAL RESOURCES. Woulathe rq'ect:
a. Result in the loss of availability of a known X 2
mineral resource that would be of value to the
region and the residents of the state?
b. Result in the loss of availability of a locally, X 2
important mineral resource recovery site
delineated on a local general plan, specific plan
or other land use lan?
EXPLANATION: There are no known mineral resources located within the boundaries of the project area, which is largely
developed. Therefore, no impacts are anticipated for mineral resources with implementation of the Revitalization Strategy.
8. HAZARDS AND HAZARDOUS'MATERIALS.''Would the' rooect:
a. Create a significant hazard to the public or the X 2
environment through the routine transport, use,
or dis osal of hazardous materials?
b. Create a significant hazard to the public or the X 2
environment through reasonably foreseeable
upset and accident conditions involving the
release of hazardous materials into the
environment?
c. Emit hazardous emissions or handle hazardous X 2
or acutely hazardous materials, substances, or
waste within one-quarter mile of an existing or
ro osed school?
d. Be located on a site which is included on a list X 2
of hazardous materials sites and, as a result,
would it create a significant hazard to the
ublic or the environment?
CSLBART Revitalization Strategy - IS/ND 9 December/2000
