<br />8. Truck hauling for importing or exporting of materials pursuant to this permit shall be restricted to a City <br />Truck Route. The Bay Trail and other streets to be used for truck hauling shall be submitted by LAVWMA <br />in writing and approved by the City Engineer in advance of commencement of the truck hauling activities. <br />9. The following high standards for sanitation are required: garbage cans, construction dumpsters, and debris <br />piles shall be removed on a minimum weekly basis. All food-related trash items, such as wrappers, cans, <br />bottles, and food scraps shall be disposed of in closed containers only and regularly removed from the <br />construction site. Chemical toilets provided for the construction personnel shall be inspected for leaks prior <br />to being placed into operation and shall be cleaned on a minimum weekly basis. <br />10. Recycled water from the City of San Leandro Water Pollution Control Plant, 3000 Davis Street, San <br />Leandro, shall be used to the maximum extent possible for dust control. <br />1 1. Dust control measures, including but not limited to, material handling and control practices and sweeping and <br />vacuuming the roadway areas as many times necessary, shall be provided during. construction activities. <br />ALL trucks loaded with soil. or rock materials entering or leaving the construction site project shall have load <br />covers in place at any time these trucks are travelling on any public street in San Leandro. Water may be <br />used for dust control in lieu of load covers, but in the event citizen complaints are received by the City <br />Engineer concerning dust migration as a result of truck hauling activities, the City Engineer may enforce the <br />use of load covers for all trucks providing service pursuant to this permit or may stop work or revoke the <br />permit. <br />12. All construction equipment and passenger vehicles on the job site shall be restricted to travel speeds of 15 <br />miles per hour or less. Violation of this provision by any vehicle or equipment may result in the immediate <br />revocation or suspension of any permits issued by the City of San Leandro. <br />13. LAVWMA, or its contractor, shall take all steps necessary to mitigate the potential generation of air-borne <br />dust or debris during the perfornance of the work hereunder. The use of air-blowers for cleaning <br />sidewalks or streets is specifically prohibited under this Permit. When directed by the City Engineer, <br />LAVWMA, or its contractor, shall thoroughly clean, at no cost to the City or property owner, any and all <br />adjacent public rights-of--way or private properties impacted by dust and/or debris from the work permitted <br />hereunder. LAVWMA is aware that the City Engineer, as the sole and final judge, may order all or any <br />portion of the work to be suspended in the event air-borne dust or debris leaves the work area and causes a <br />nuisance to adjoining property owners or the public at large. Such suspensions shall remain in effect until <br />the City Engineer is fully satisfied that the work practices causing the air-borne dust or debris have been <br />satisfactorily mitigated and the adversely affected properties or areas have been thoroughly cleaned at no cost <br />to the City or property owner. <br />l4. All construction contracts shall include the following requirements: 1) Unpaved .construction sites shall be <br />sprinkled with water at least twice per day, 2) trucks hauling construction materials shall be covered with <br />tarpaulins or other effective covers, 3) streets surrounding construction sites shall be swept at ]east once per <br />day, and 4) paving shall be done as soon as possible. <br />] 5. All metal fences and ancillary structures in the right-of--way and in close proximity to transmission lines shall <br />be grounded, in accordance with applicable specifications, to eliminate potential electric shocks. Appropriate <br />cautionary signing shall also be installed. <br />
