Minutes - San Leandro City Council Meeting - April 1, 1996 Page - 7 - <br /> NEW BUSINESS (continued) <br /> The following Resolution was then introduced: <br /> Resolution No. 96 -43, Resolution Supporting a Multi - Agency Grant <br /> Application to Alameda County Congestion Management Agency for a Bus <br /> Shelter /Advertising Project (supports application to Bay Area Air <br /> Quality Management District for funds to study the possibility of <br /> creating a bus shelter /advertising project on behalf of San Leandro and <br /> various other cities and agencies in Alameda County). (1381/2465) <br /> Introduced by Council Member Myers, who moved its adoption, seconded by <br /> Council Member Polvorosa, with Council Member Loeffler absent (1), and <br /> carried by a majority vote (6). <br /> B. Matter of Alcoholic Beverages at City Facilities Policy. <br /> Council Member Myers said the City Council Facilities Subcommittee met <br /> and discussed the City's policy, which has been not to allow service of <br /> hard liquor at City facilities. He said, after talking to the <br /> residents of the mobilehome park and the surrounding area, the <br /> Facilities Subcommittee recommended that the City Council continue to <br /> allow only beer and wine to be served, with no service of hard liquor. <br /> He noted this item can be brought up again at a later date but pointed <br /> out everyone seems satisfied that this has been brought to the City <br /> Council's attention. <br /> Mayor Corbett said there was some concern, but there was not an <br /> outpouring of community concern to change the policy. She noted <br /> service organizations are still able to have successful activities <br /> under the current policy. She said she had advised Mr. Bruner of the <br /> recommendation to be made. <br /> The following Motion was then introduced: <br /> Minute Order No. 96 -13, Matter of Alcoholic Beverages at City <br /> Facilities Policy. (2808/2471) <br /> On motion by Council Member Myers, who moved its approval, seconded by <br /> Council Member Kerr, with Council Member Loeffler absent (1), and <br /> carried by a majority vote (6), the City Council approved the <br /> recommendation of the joint committee of the Recreation and Parks <br /> Commission and the Library- Historical Commission to continue the <br /> current policy of allowing wine and beer and to restrict hard liquor at <br /> City facilities. <br />
