Minutes - City of San Leandro City Council and Page - 5 - <br /> Redevelopment Agency Meeting - December 2, 1996 <br /> 7. OPEN FORUM <br /> Open Forum is limited to 3 minutes maximum per speaker, 15 minutes total. <br /> 7.1 Lou Filipovich, 15376 Laverne Drive, asked how many audits are <br /> conducted per year and asked several other related questions. Mr. <br /> Jermanis noted that there is one comprehensive audit per year; other <br /> financial reports occur throughout the year. He said financial <br /> reports are conducted by staff; an independent firm audits the • <br /> report. Mr. Jermanis noted the report is available to the public, <br /> upon request. He commented on the competitive -bid process and <br /> clarified the difference between government employees versus private <br /> employees, as earlier noted in Council Member Loeffler's comments. <br /> 8. CITY COUNCIL REPORTS AND COMMENTS <br /> 8.1 Reports on Intergovernmental Agencies <br /> 8.1.1 Council Member Loeffler reported that he attended the ABAG <br /> (Association of Bay Area Governments) Conference related to <br /> the impact of Welfare Reform. He said there are implications <br /> that will affect the community, specifically, to youth and <br /> families. He said he hopes staff is beginning to look into <br /> the matter. He said he would provide copies to the Council of <br /> a document regarding interrelations between regions /cities/ <br /> counties. He said there was a speech by the Bay Area Council <br /> President regarding the tie between education and the quality <br /> of life in the Bay Area. He said he would later provide <br /> copies to the Council. <br /> 8.1.2 Council Member Glaze reported on the recent ACAP funding <br /> cycle. He said the Eden area was not funded due to a lack of <br /> a qualifying agency. He said they will go out for proposals <br /> in an effort to locate an agency to serve the area. He also <br /> commented on the need to make an appointment to the PIC and <br /> requested City Council direction. <br /> Mayor Corbett suggested that Council Member Glaze make a <br /> recommendation and inform the City Council at that time. <br /> 8.2 Reports on City Council Subcommittees <br /> None <br />
