OPEN FORUM Open Forum is limited to 3 minutes maximum per speaker, 15 minutes total. 7.1 Lou Filipovich, 15376 Laverne Drive, asked how many audits are conducted per year and asked several other related questions. Mr. Jermanis noted that there is one comprehensive audit per year; other financial reports occur throughout the year. He said financial reports are conducted by staff; an independent firm audits the • report. Mr. Jermanis noted the report is available to the public, upon request. He commented on the competitive -bid process and clarified the difference between government employees versus private employees, as earlier noted in Council Member Loeffler's comments. 8. CITY COUNCIL REPORTS AND COMMENTS 8.1 Reports on Intergovernmental Agencies 8.1.1 Council Member Loeffler reported that he attended the ABAG (Association of Bay Area Governments) Conference related to the impact of Welfare Reform. He said there are implications that will affect the community, specifically, to youth and families. He said he hopes staff is beginning to look into the matter. He said he would provide copies to the Council of a document regarding interrelations between regions /cities/ counties. He said there was a speech by the Bay Area Council President regarding the tie between education and the quality of life in the Bay Area. He said he would later provide copies to the Council. 8.1.2 Council Member Glaze reported on the recent ACAP funding cycle. He said the Eden area was not funded due to a lack of a qualifying agency. He said they will go out for proposals in an effort to locate an agency to serve the area. He also commented on the need to make an appointment to the PIC and requested City Council direction. Mayor Corbett suggested that Council Member Glaze make a recommendation and inform the City Council at that time. 8.2 Reports on City Council Subcommittees None
