Following job placements, financial and coaching assistance is
provided to assure a successful transition (e.g., free childcare, transportation, vouchers, assistance
with wardrobe and uniform needs). The City will continue to encourage new agencies and programs
providing job assistance and related services to apply for funds.
INSTITUTIONAL STRUCTURE
CDBG and HOME activities are located in the Office of Economic and Redevelopment which is
part of the City Managers Office. In an effort to leverage the use of funds, the CDBG and
HOME staff collaborates with all City departments, including Redevelopment, Economic
Development, Engineering, Planning and Community Services. In addition, the staff also works
closely with service and housing agencies to accomplish local community development
objectives.
PUBLIC /PRIVATE COORDINATION
The City of San Leandro will continue to coordinate CDBG, HOME, Redevelopment Community
Assistance funds to provide housing programs, public service assistance, capital improvement
opportunities, and economic development revitalization programs to the community during the
next fiscal year.
