Action Plan - FY2000 <br /> City of San Leandro <br /> Page 40 <br /> Housing <br /> Housing related activities will be coordinated between various City divisions, including <br /> Redevelopment, Planning and CDBG. The City will also coordinate with Alameda County, <br /> Alameda County HOME Consortium and non - profit agencies to address housing needs. <br /> It is anticipated that the City and Redevelopment Agency will continue to contract with Alameda <br /> County to provide housing rehabilitation services. The City will also work with the County to <br /> administer HOME funds for affordable housing rehabilitation or new construction projects. The <br /> City will continue to contract for Fair Housing, tenant/landlord and Rental Assistance Program <br /> services. The Redevelopment Agency and CDBG staff will continue to work closely with local <br /> nonprofit shelter agencies to identify affordable and transitional housing needs. <br /> Public Services /Capital Improvement Projects <br /> Public Services will be supported by both the CDBG and the City's Community Assistance funds <br /> (general funds); efforts will continue to include the Human Resources Commission and nonprofit <br /> agency directors /members to further improve and evaluate the needs assessment and funding <br /> process. CDBG funds are expected to be made available for nonprofit and City - initiated capital <br /> improvement projects. Nonprofit improvements will be coordinated within the City's <br /> development Services, Engineering and Transportation Departments, and the City Council. <br /> Business Revitalization <br /> Revitalization efforts will continue through the City's Economic Development Coordinator and <br /> directed by the City Council. Staff works closely with the Chamber of Commerce, Downtown <br /> Business Association, the East Bay Small Business Development Center, surrounding <br /> communities, and various economic development organizations to best determine the City's future <br /> needs. Two programs underway, the Neighborhood Shopping Center Revitalization Program and <br /> the MacArthur Boulevard Facade Renovation Program, will further enhance the City's business <br /> revitalization efforts. <br /> PUBLIC HOUSING IMPROVEMENTS AND RESIDENT INITIATIVES <br /> There are no public housing units located within the City of San Leandro. The City does not anticipate <br /> activities to promote such initiatives. <br />
