Reconsideration of Support <br /> For Measure M Page 2 October 4, 2010 <br /> At the September 20 meeting, the motion to approve the resolution supporting Measure M was <br /> made and seconded. A substitute motion was then made to table the item, and refer discussion of <br /> the "Guidelines Regarding Council Support for Ballot Measures" to the Rules and <br /> Communications Committee Meeting of September 28, 2010. The substitute motion passed by a <br /> vote of 4 -3 (Councilmembers Gregory and Prola, and Mayor Santos, opposed). <br /> On September 22, 2010, by authority of Section 305(h) of the City Charter, Mayor Santos filed a <br /> Notice of Suspension with the City Clerk. The suspension constitutes a motion for <br /> reconsideration of the action, to be voted upon at the City Council's next regular meeting. <br /> Current Citv Council Policy <br /> The "Guidelines Regarding Council Support for Ballot Measures," adopted on May 3, 2004, by <br /> Minute Order No. 2004 -016 <br /> City Council Committee Review and Action <br /> The City Council Rules and Communications Committee met on September 28, 2010 and <br /> recommended revisions to the `Guidelines Regarding Council Support for Ballot Measures" to <br /> broaden the scope of matters that could be supported by the Council. If approved, the revised <br /> Guidelines would allow the Council to adopt the resolution supporting Measure M. <br /> Fiscal Impact — Not Applicable <br /> Attachments <br /> Notice of Suspension of Vote on Action Item 8.B. from the September 20, 2010 City Council <br /> meeting, filed by Mayor Santos on September 22, 2010. <br /> CONCLUSION <br /> Pursuant to the Mayor's action, the City Council shall vote to reconsider adoption of the <br /> Resolution Supporting Measure M, San Leandro Sports Facilities School Bond. <br />
