Estudillo Callan Parking Garage <br /> CSA — AME 2 December 6, 2010 <br /> Analysis <br /> Special inspection services for material and construction testing of critical structural components <br /> are required by the building permit. AME is on the City Building Division's list of approved <br /> special inspection firms and was selected because of its satisfactory performance on previous <br /> City projects including: Bay Trail Slough Bridge; Senior Community Center; San Leandro <br /> History Museum; and Washington Manor Library. <br /> Current City Council Policy <br /> • To promote and revitalize the downtown area <br /> • Elements of this project were taken from the City Council San Leandro/BART Area <br /> Revitalization Strategy as well as the Downtown Plan and Urban Design Guidelines <br /> • The San Leandro Redevelopment Agency 2004 -2009 Implementation Plan includes the <br /> expansion and seismic retrofit of the 2 -level Estudillo Callan Parking Garage downtown with <br /> a goal of providing increased parking for downtown businesses and customers <br /> • TOD Strategy includes the development of centralized parking facilities that contribute to <br /> pedestrian activity <br /> Previous Redevelopment Agency /City Council Action(s) <br /> • On May 19, 2008 by Resolution No. 2008 -013 RDA, the Board approved a Contractual <br /> Services Agreement with Walker Parking Consultants to provide design services for the <br /> subject project <br /> • On June 7, 2010, by Resolution No. 2010 -005 RDA, the Board approved plans and <br /> specifications and called for bids on the subject project <br /> • On September 20, 2010, by Resolution No. 2010 -009 RDA, the Board approved a cooperative <br /> agreement between the City and the Redevelopment Agency to undertake redevelopment <br /> activities as provided in the subject project, at a cost not to exceed $11,450,000; authorizing <br /> expenditure of tax funds; and adopting findings required by the Health & Safety Code <br /> • On September 20, 2010, by Resolution No. 2010 -125. the City Council approved a <br /> cooperative agreement between the City and the Redevelopment Agency to undertake <br /> redevelopment activities as provided in the subject project at a cost not to exceed <br /> $11,450,000; authorizing expenditure of tax funds; and adopting findings required by the <br /> Health and Safety Code <br /> • On September 20, 2010, by Resolution No. 2010 -126, the City Council awarded a contract to <br /> Webcor Construction for the construction of the subject project <br /> City Council Committee Review and Action <br /> On September 9, 2008, December 9, 2008, and May 12, 2009, the City Council Facilities and <br /> Transportation Committee received updates on the status of the Estudillo Callan Parking Garage <br /> Project. <br />
