Report on Closed Session Actions Taken <br />No reportable action taken. <br />Mayor Santos reported that the Council would be adjourning tonight's meeting to a <br />continued closed session regarding the City Manager's performance evaluation. <br />11. CITY COUNCIL REPORTS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS <br />City Councilmembers report on their activities, including attendance at Intergovernmental <br />Agency meetings, conferences and seminars, and local events, and make brief announcements <br />on issues of concern. <br />Vice Mayor Reed reported that she has been kept very busy standing in for the Mayor during <br />his trip to Germany. She attended the Chamber of Commerce event on education; the <br />Housing Authority's Family Self- Sufficiency Dinner; Senior Thanksgiving Luncheons at the <br />Library and Marina Community Center (MCC); the San Leandro School Board meeting, <br />where the outgoing Board members were recognized; the Chamber of Commerce Multi - <br />Cultural Mixer; the BASSL (Business Association of South San Leandro) and MCC crime <br />prevention meeting; and the "It's a Wonderful Night" event. She thanked the volunteers from <br />San Leandro High School and the Alameda County Fire Department for their help with the <br />Senior Thanksgiving Luncheons, and commented on an award presented at one of the <br />luncheons to outgoing County Supervisor Alice Lai - Bitker for her support of seniors. Vice <br />Mayor Reed expressed appreciation for all she has learned from Mayor Santos over the past <br />two years, and she hoped that she could continue to count on him for advice. <br />Councilmember Starosciak reported that she attended the ACTC Board meeting, at which the <br />vehicle registration fee and reauthorization of Measure B were discussed. The meeting was <br />held on the same day as the celebration for Phase I of the Union City intermodal <br />transportation station, and she likened the Union City project to what San Leandro is trying to <br />accomplish with its Transit - Oriented Development (TOD) Strategy. She noted that, due to <br />budget cuts, Caltrans is now charging for plan checks, and the Marina Boulevard overcrossing <br />project may be affected. Councilmember Starosciak reported that the Alameda County <br />Mayors Conference will be malting an appointment to the Bay Conservation and <br />Development Commission. Councilmember Starosciak expressed her love for San Leandro, <br />and gratitude for being able to serve the City. She stated that she believes plurality is the best <br />process for choosing representatives for the City of San Leandro. However, her vote on RCV <br />
