Probationary Appointment - The appointment of a person to a position in a classification listed <br /> in Appendix "A" from an employment list to serve the required probationary period for that <br /> classification. <br /> Provisional Appointment - The appointment of a person to a position in a classification listed in <br /> Appendix "A" as defined in the Personnel Rules. <br /> Permanent Appointment - The appointment of a person to a position in a classification listed in <br /> Appendix "A" who has completed the required probationary period in that classification. <br /> Temporary Appointment - The appointment of a person to a position in a classification listed in <br /> Appendix "A" for a specified duration not to exceed twenty -four (24) months. The City shall <br /> provide notice to the Union of all temporary appointments. <br /> Section 41. Provisions Applicable to Part -time and Temporan• Emplovees: <br /> The following sections of the MOU apply as specified to part-time, permanent part-time and temporary <br /> employees as they are defined below: <br /> • <br /> Part -Time: Hourly employees who work 999 hours or less in a fiscal year. Part-time employees shall remain <br /> in probationary status. <br /> Permanent Part-Time: Hourly employees working a fixed- weekly schedule for a minimum of 1,000 hours a <br /> year for two consecutive fiscal years. <br /> Temporary Full -Time: Employees hired on a project basis up to a maximum of two years unless extended by <br /> mutual agreement. <br /> SLCEA Applicable MOU Sections <br /> Section Title Part -Time Perm.
