• Finishing touches are currently underway with completion of the <br /> AEC estimated to be the end of April 2011 <br /> • Friends of the Theater (FOTT), a local non - profit and <br /> subcommittee of San Leandro Education Foundation (SLED) are <br /> working diligently to put in place fundraising efforts. A <br /> fundraising gala has tentatively been planned for the third <br /> Sunday in April 2011. <br /> • The District and SLED /FOTT have met to discuss the AEC's <br /> operational and staffing issues. The Board will consider <br /> approving the recommendations for the Theater Manager job <br /> description and position at their March 1, 2011 Board meeting <br /> and a memorandum of understanding between the District and <br /> SLED /FOTT at their March 8, 2011 Board meeting. <br /> 6. Continued Discussion Regarding Measure M <br /> Superintendent Cindy Cathey distributed copies of the information that was <br /> shared at the February 15 special Board meeting regarding the formation of <br /> Measure M Conceptual Design Teams, adding that currently the District is <br /> accepting applications for the SLUSD Sports Complex and Burrell Field <br /> design team and the San Leandro High School Swim Center design team. <br /> Applications are available at the District Office as well as on the District's <br /> website. <br /> The Superintendent reported that District staff recently met with the City to <br /> discuss of the City's role, the role of a Technical Advisory Committee. <br /> • <br /> 7. Continued Discussion Regarding City and SLUSD Liaison Committee <br /> Meeting Days and Times <br /> In keeping with the traditional meeting schedule of the 3rd Thursdays of the <br /> month, Jacqui Diaz said that tentatively the committee's next meeting would <br /> be held on March 24,•4 -5:30 p.m. at the City offices. <br /> 8. Discussion Regarding Mayor's Education Conference <br /> Mayor Cassidy shared his interest in planning a public education conference <br /> in May or June of this year. The conference would provide an opportunity to <br /> bring representatives from San Lorenzo Unified, San Leandro Unified, the <br /> City, higher education institutions such as Chabot College, Cal State East <br /> Bay, and•Career Technical Education training centers together to discuss the <br /> challenges, and opportunities of public education in San Leandro. <br /> A discussion ensued regarding the scope of the conference and timing. <br /> Everyone agreed that it was a great way to profile education and community <br /> partnerships. It was decided to move forward for early fall, with both the <br /> City and District bringing the recommendation to their respective Council <br /> 3 <br />
