Ayes: 7; Noes: 0 <br /> b. Schedule a work session for a presentation on the High Diversion Plan for <br /> waste diversion. <br /> Councilmember Prola expressed disappointment that the Committee did not <br /> recommend a ban on polystyrene food containers. He voiced concern about <br /> the dangers of polystyrene as a carcinogen and neurotoxin; and expressed <br /> support for Option 1, listed in the staff report. <br /> Mayor Cassidy inquired about the presentation on the High Diversion Plan. <br /> Mr. Bakaldin stated that staff will schedule a work session for presentation <br /> of the Plan, preferably prior to June l'. In response to Councilmember <br /> Prola's concems, Mr. Bakaldin indicated that staff would include the pros <br /> and cons of a polystyrene ban in the presentation. <br /> Councilmember Souza indicated that she would support Option 2 until <br /> funding became available for enforcement. <br /> Mayor Cassidy commented that a review of the options could be part of the <br /> work session presentation. <br /> The City Council approved this recommendation. <br /> c. Approve modification to the City Council regular agenda format to add <br /> "Calendar" to Item 11 —City Council Reports and Announcements, to <br /> announce upcoming events of mutual interest to members, and to coordinate <br /> attendance at events requiring Council's presence. <br /> The City Council approved this recommendation. <br /> The City Council recessed from 8:57 p.m. to 9:03 p.m. <br />
