Table 3-1 indicates the land area in each category. One of the categories- Mixed Use" was added to the General Plan in 2011 in order to implement the Downtown Transit Oriented Development Strategy, including the San Leandro BART Station area. The TOD strategy increased the allowable floor area ratio and densities in this area, thus requiring changes to the land use category definitions and the General Plan Map.
