OH92 REV. <br /> 000 TO ADMINISTERING AGENCY -STATE MASTER AGREEMENT NO. 00218S FOR <br /> THE SAFE ROUTES TO SCHOOL (SR2S) PROGRAM, BANCROFT AVENUE/136TH <br /> AVENUE TRAFFIC SIGNAL PROJECT, STATE PROJECT NO. SR2SL- 5041(038) AND <br /> APPROPRIATION OF GRANT AND DEVELOPER FEES FOR STREET IMPROVEMENT <br /> (DFSI) FUNDS. <br /> SUMMARY AND RECOMMENDATION <br /> Staff recommends approval of a resolution authorizing the City Manager to execute the Program <br /> Supplement Agreement that accepts state funding for the subject project and obligates the City to <br /> provide $46,850 matching funds for the subject project. Staff also recommends appropriation of <br /> grant funds in the amount of $421,250 and $46,850 in Developer Fees for Street Improvement <br /> (DFSI) for matching funds. <br /> BACKGROUND <br /> In mid -2010, Staff applied for the 9 Cycle of the Safe Routes to School (SR2S) program to <br /> improve safety at San Leandro High School. By installing a traffic signal with accessible <br /> pedestrian signal equipment, student safety will be improved at the intersection of Bancroft <br /> Avenue and 136 Avenue near the two campuses of San Leandro High School. In October 2010, <br /> staff learned that the City was awarded this State grant. <br /> Upon the City Council authorizing the City Manager to execute Program Supplement Agreement <br /> No. OH92 Rev. 000 to the Master Agreement with Caltrans, the Local Assistance staff will <br /> proceed to make funds available for design and construction of the project. <br />
