Roof Replacement and Accessories (Year 3) - <br /> Award of Contract 2 May 16, 2011 <br /> Analysis <br /> The bids were opened on May 5, 2011. Eight (8) bids were received ranging from $195,608 to <br /> $287,660. State Roofing Systems, Inc. was the lowest responsive bidder. The engineer's <br /> estimate for the work was $190,000. Staff has also verified that the contractor is in good <br /> standing through the Contractors State License Board's website. <br /> Current City Council Policy <br /> Maintain the existing City infrastructure to a desirable standard. <br /> Previous City Council Action(s) <br /> • On February 22, 2011, by Resolution No. 2011 -051, the City Council approved Plans and <br /> Specifications and Calling for Bids for the Roof Replacement and Accessories (Year 3) <br /> Project, Project No. 09- 687 -18 -104 (provides for the roof replacement at the South Offices <br /> building) <br /> • On July 21, 2008, by Resolution No. 2008 -088, the City Council approved a consultant <br /> services agreement with Skyline Engineering, Inc. for the design of Phase III of the <br /> Reroofing Program <br /> Applicable General Plan Policy <br /> Policy 52.07 - Provide on -going maintenance of City -owned property. <br /> Permits and /or Variances G ranted <br /> A Building Permit will be obtained. <br /> Environmental Review • <br /> California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) exemption has been filed with Alameda County, <br /> pursuant to Section 15302 "Replacement or Reconstruction ". <br /> Fiscal Impact <br /> The total estimated cost of the Roof Replacement and Accessories (Year 3) project is $303,851, <br /> for design, construction and construction contingencies and administration. <br /> • Budget Authority <br /> The improvements will be funded using General Funds allocated for building maintenance <br /> approved in CIP Acco nt No. 210 -18 -104. <br /> Tracy , Financ hector <br /> G: \ _Council Items In Process MAY 16 \Roofing Repl & Repairs 09 -10 - AWARD1Roor Replacement & Accessories (Year 3) Award <br /> MEM.Docx <br />
