• <br /> COUNCILMEMBERS HANDBOOK APPENDIX U <br /> CITY OF SAN LEANDRO <br /> GUIDELINES REGARDING COUNCIL SUPPORT FOR OR <br /> OPPOSITION TO BALLOT MEASURES <br /> Purpose of the Guidelines: <br /> The purpose of these guidelines is to describe the City Council's policy regarding support <br /> for ballot measures on local, state or national matters. <br /> Guidelines: <br /> The City Council as a group will not adopt a formal position in favor of or in opposition <br /> to ballot measures unless such ballot measure has a direct benefit to or impact on a <br /> significant portion of the community of San Leandro or the City of San Leandro. <br /> Council Members requesting City Council support or opposition to a measure shall first <br /> receive consensus from the body to place said support or opposition on a future agenda <br /> for Council discussion and consideration. <br /> No public funds shall be used in any support for or opposition to any measure. <br /> Nothing in these Guidelines is intended to discourage or inhibit individual council <br /> members from expressing their individual support for or opposition to any ballot <br /> measure. <br /> (Adopted on October 4, 2010; Resolution 2010 -127) Page 1 <br />
