Toyon Park Restroom Replacement Sitework Award of Contract City Council Committee Review and Action June 20, 2011 The project was presented to the City Council Facilities and Transportation Committee during the project update on June 8, 2010. Environmental Review California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) exemption has been filed with Alameda County for the project, pursuant to Section 15302. Summary of Public Outreach Efforts A community workshop was held on July 22, 2010 to solicit input from the community on the KaBOOM! playground (Project 150 -62 -008). At that meeting, information on the proposed restroom and location was provided for public review and comment. Fiscal Impact The total construction cost including contingencies and construction management is estimated to be $105,000 as follows: Sitework Construction Contract $85,000 12% Sitework Construction Contingencies $10,500 Sitework Construction Management and Administration $10,000 The cost of the purchase, delivery and placement on site of the pre- fabricated restroom is $167,393, authorized by a previous City Council action. Public Works Services determined that this project will reduce maintenance costs. Budeet Authority The project was included in the Capital Improvement Program (CIP) in the 2007 -2008 fiscal year, and a total amount of $300,000 was allocated in CIP Account No. 210 -62 -008 for the project. e Tracy e e y, Finance irector CONCLUSION Staff recommends award of contract to the low bidder, McNabb Construction, Inc. in the amount of $84,700.00 for the subject project.
