facilities, digesters, administration control building, and remaining portion of the project. For this
task, a budget equivalent to about 140 hours have been included but can be higher or lower
depending on the actual effort required.
Information Provided by City:
• None.
Consultant Deliverables:
• Field memos on punch -list items for various facilities.
Task 4.7 — Geotechnical Engineering Support Services. Consultant's geotechnical engineer
(Fugro) shall provide the following services: field services, laboratory services, and office
services for construction of the WPCP Rehabilitation Project for applicable new structures listed
on structural sheets 172 through 229 and structural sheets 459 to 481.
• General services: Fugro will monitor project progress and field observation and testing
services, provide onsite geotechnical consultants, review project plans, and attend project
meetings on an as- requested basis. As part of each site visit, a computer - generated Daily
Field Report (DFR) will be prepared to document the day's geotechnical- related
construction activities, together with the results of field density tests taken that visit. Final
reviewed copies will be submitted to the City at the City's request.
• Site preparation and mass grading: For building pad preparation, Fugro will provide part-
time observation during excavation of undocumented fills, and full -time observation and
nuclear gauge density testing during fill placement and compaction.
• Fixed Film Reactor Construction: During construction of the FFR, Fugro will be on -site
full -time to observe the installation of soil cement columns, and their engineering
technician will provide full -time observation and testing during fill placement and
compaction, and/or observation and sampling of lightweight concrete placement, if
needed.
• Trench and retaining wall backfill: For underground utility line trench and retaining wall
backfill operations within a 1:1 prism extending out from the bottom of slab foundations,
Fugro will provide part-time to full -time observation and nuclear gauge density testing
services during fill placement and compaction, including lightweight fill for deep
trenches extending into bay margin soils. The effort included in the scope is based on
Consulting Services Agreement between Project No. 08- 593 -52 -239
City of San Leandro and Carollo Engineers, Inc. Page 21
