. ..
4. Report from the Port on the status of the Airport Development Plan.
The Terminal Improvement Program, a component of the Airport Development Program (ADP), is under
construction. Some of the first new gates on the Terminal 2 extension, which will add a net five new
aircraft gates, are expected to become operational in August 2006. The new Terminal 2 baggage claim
facility is anticipated to open in mid -May 2006. The entire Terminal 2 renovation and extension is
scheduled to be complete in early 2007. The terminal roadways, curbside, and parking renovation and
expansion project are under construction and scheduled to be complete in early 2008.
The Port decided to delay implementation of the parking garage identified in the ADP, given the
increased cost of construction and the availability of surface parking supply due to the closure of the
Oakland Maintenance Center (former United Airlines maintenance hangar). At this tine, it is uncertain
\vhen this project will proceed.
•
FedEx has begun a phased implementation of its projects identified in the ADP, including construction of
additional aircraft parking ramp. It continues to plan and design additional ADP projects, including
additional aircraft parking ramp, as well as truck and vehicle parking.
Finally, it should be noted that actual aircraft operations are well below those forecast for the ADP
environmental documents, as shown in the following table:
•
•
:° r ` 1 ? : `!n4se:.t{ ra r {I / 2,kT k ° , „• r i {fi •. 7 0 . 0
• 3 x; . r ielf i t f,1 n: a-• it i ,
G err i} 7'Cf"a. r >  n ,.. r . i 'i'f . 2900 4.D1 c l,ta5ter•PI I
t. j x . r ,,,,,• • - bj 9.  y '. ..c tf f” < .
- 1'_ istIn ' ,a.'E - „ t F orec'15 t Sh ;' :LDP forecast
Airline passengers 10.6 MAP (2000) 13.3 MAP 18 MAP 22.4 MAP
Annual Passenger
Airline Operations 156,950 (2004) 181,636 197,830 295,067
•
Air Cargo Weight 0.74 MAT (2004) 1.0 MAT 0.9 MAT 2.1 MAT
Annual Cargo
Airline Operations 56,940 (2003) 83,478 59,860 149,794
Annual General 123,642
A.viation Operations (12 months ending 330,275 158,504 360,330
Sept. 30, 2004)
MAP = million annual passengers
MAT = million annual tons
