MEDICAL PRIORITY DISPATCH <br />The system that categorizes emergency calls using an escalating scale of severity assigned to <br />SYSTEM( "MPDS ") <br />medical conditions, relative to the level and timeliness of response. <br />A Multi- Casualty Incident (MCI) is any incident where the number of injured persons exceeds <br />MULTI - CASUALTY INCIDENT <br />the day -to -day operating capabilities and requires additional resources and /or the <br />( "MCI ") <br />distribution of patients to multiple hospitals. <br />Emergency service performed by neighboring providers during periods of severe weather, <br />MUTUAL -AID <br />multi - casualty incidents, or other events that overwhelm existing resources. <br />PARAMEDIC <br />As defined in California Health and Safety Code, Division 2.5, §1797.84. <br />PCR <br />Patient Care Report, in either print or electronic form. <br />The City jurisdictional limitor area(s) for which the responding agency is responsible to <br />PRIMARY SERVICE AREA <br />provide emergency response. See EXHIBIT A FOR A DESCRIPTION OF THE CONTRACTORS PRIMARY <br />SERVICE AREA. <br />The time elapsed from the time a call is received by Contractor from the dispatch center, <br />RESPONSE TIME <br />until Arrival at the Incident Location by the FRALS. <br />As defined in the California Code of Regulations, Title 22, Chapter 12 and EMSA #166: EMS <br />QUALITY IMPROVEMENT <br />System Quality Improvement Guidelines. <br />STATE <br />The State of California, its departments and /or agencies. <br />Designation of Metro /Urban, Suburban /Rural and Wilderness Primary Service Area, as <br />SUBAREA <br />depicted In EXHIBIT B - DEPICTION AND DEFINITION OF SUBAREAS. <br />
