• Development of company wide proposal for implementing operational <br /> performance metrics and measurements <br /> CITY OF OAKLAND (CHIEF INFORMATION OFFICER) <br /> Directed the strategic operations of the City of Oakland's Office of Information <br /> Technology (OIT), encompassing Systems, Desktop, Messaging, Networks, <br /> Telecommunications, Radio, Internet, Applications, Operations, Help Desk, Data <br /> Center, Training, 911. Systems and Public Safety. Advised the Mayor, City <br /> Manager and City Council on technology strategy. Drafted business proposals, <br /> reports and evaluations. Presented to and spoke at City Council and Community <br /> meetings. Oversaw daily IT operations and major projects. Reviewed and <br /> evaluated contracts. Negotiated with vendors and partners. Participated in <br /> citywide committees on technology issues. <br /> Achievements: <br /> • Successfully planned and directed Y2K event operations <br /> o Successfully brought Agency in under budget ($500k) in first Year as CIO <br /> • Successfully developed strategic IS plan for City, known as Technology Vision <br /> 2000. This strategic plan set a vision for the future of city information <br /> services, including a set of dear strategies and high level tactical plans for <br /> tuming the vision into reality.
