Parent Workshops will include an explanation of all relevant California Vehicle Codes to pedestrians and <br /> bicyclists including those governing drivers as it related to pedestrians and bicyclists. <br /> 4. ENGINEERING <br /> Elementary Schools <br /> All workshops for both students and parents will incorporate explanations of all capital improvements <br /> within a 2 mile radius of the school sites. The miniature city utilized in the School Bicycle and Pedestrian <br /> Rodeo and the Family Safety Days will include crosswalks, gap closures, bike lanes, signage, devices, <br /> street markings and any other capital improvements. Each miniature city will be relevant to each school <br /> site so that both children and parents can relate to commute to and from school by identifying the traffic <br /> environment. Teachers will coordinate the production of a class maps representing each students route to <br /> and from school for discussion at the school rodeos. <br /> Middle Schools <br /> The Collision Assessment will incorporate discussions of capital improvements within a two -mile radius of <br /> each school and the role these infrastructures play in the reduction of pedestrian and bicycle - related <br /> collisions. The mock city will feature will include crosswalks, gap closures, bike lanes, signage, devices, <br /> street markings and any other capital improvements.
