Update on Measure M <br />[The SLUSD presentation combined items 2.B. and 2.C.] <br />San Leandro Unified School District PowerPoint Presentation <br />Assistant Superintendent Chin-Bendib: <br />• Summary of projects for both Measure B and Measure M. <br />o Measure B, $109 million, a school facilities bond approved in 2006 by voters. <br />o Measure M, $50.1 million, school facilities bond approved in 2010 by voters. <br />• Discussed projects in progress - Sports Complex and Burrell Field and the SLHS <br />Swim Center, Track and Field. <br />• Listed upcoming projects that should be completed by December 2014. <br />• Skylights, windows, exterior doors and portables will be replaced at various school <br />sites within the next eighteen months. <br />• Invited all to an event to celebrate the grand re -opening of SLHS's Career Technical <br />Education building on September 26 at 4:00 p.m. <br />Board Member Mack -Rose: <br />• Extended her thanks to the City for partnering with the District in the ribbon cutting <br />for the Career Technical Education building. The District and City should be <br />applauded for having an excellent career technical curriculum to offer students. <br />Board Member Prola: <br />• Recently toured the Career Technical Education building and was very impressed <br />with the state -of -art facility and equipment. <br />Councilmember Cutter: <br />• Asked if all lighting and painting is completed throughout the District. <br />• Asked if the District anticipates District savings that can be devoted to solar. <br />Assistant Superintendent Chin-Bendib: <br />• Confirmed that all lighting and painting has been completed. <br />• An anticipation of District savings has not been calculated yet. <br />Deputy City Manager Diaz: <br />• Announced a City Council Work Session regarding Burrell Field on September 24, <br />7:00 p.m. in Council Chambers. <br />City of San Leandro Page 3 Printed on 10/9/2012 <br />
