The first l loyee requesting a <br /> holiday shift trade for a specific date shall be granted <br /> said request; provided all of the above requirements are <br /> met. <br /> • <br /> An employee assigned to a twenty -four (24) hc duty shift <br /> who does not work the full calendar year in that capacity <br /> will receive the above entitlement on a pro rata basis. <br /> These employees assigned to forty (40) hour work week <br /> . shall be entitled to the following holidays: New Year's <br /> Day; Lincoln's Birthday; third Monday in February <br /> (h'ashington's Birthday); last Monday in May (Memorial •• <br /> • Day); Independence Day; Labor Day; third Monday in January' <br /> • <br /> - (martin Luther king's Birthday); November 11 (veterans' <br /> Day); Thanksgiving Day; the day after Th.anksgiving;.one- <br /> half (1/2) day on the work day immediately preceding <br /> Christmas Day and one -half (1/2) day on the work day <br /> immediately preceding New Years Day; Christmas; and every <br /> day proclaimed a City holiday by the Mayo_. <br /> When such a holiday listed herein falls cn a Sunday, such <br /> day off in lieu thereof shall be the Monday following such <br /> Sunday. If such a holiday falls on a Saturday, a day off <br /> in lieu of the holiday shay- be granted during the <br /> calendar year for which the holiday was entitled. Such <br /> day shall be subject to the approval of the Fire Chief. <br /> 13.2 Those employees assigned to a forty (40) hour work week • <br /> shall be entitled to one floating holiday which shall be <br /> scheduled at a time mutually convenient to the employee <br /> and the Fire Chief. The floating holiday must be taken <br /> during each calendar year and may not be carried over to <br /> another calendar year or converted to pay. <br /> 13.3 For those employees assigned to a forty (40) hour work <br /> week: when such a day listed falls on a Sunday, such day <br /> off in lieu thereof shall be the Monday following such <br /> Sunday. If such a holiday falls on a Saturday, a day off <br /> in lieu of the holiday shall be granted during the <br /> .calendar year for which the holiday was entitled. Such <br /> day shall be subject to the approval of the Fire Chief. <br /> 13.4 An employee who is on leave without pay status for fifteen <br /> (15) or fewer calendar days, shall continue to accrue <br /> holiday leave. An employee who is on leave without pay <br /> status for more than fifteen (15) but thirty -one (31) or <br /> • fewer calendar days shall not accrue holiday leave for one <br /> month. An employee who is on leave without.pay status for <br /> more than thirty -one (31) calendar days shall not accrue <br /> holiday leave for those months which the employee has not <br /> worked full calendar months. <br /> • <br /> • <br /> -11- • 235 <br /> • <br /> • <br /> • <br />
