However, 4111 emergency situations, than -duty battalion <br /> chief may authorize acting pay. Intra- platoon employees <br /> should be given first consideration for ac=ing pay <br /> assignments. <br /> 35.4 If the employee scheduled to work the initial trade date <br /> becomes ill, the trade shall be canceled if notification <br /> to the employee scheduled to be off -duty is possible. If <br /> not, sick leave shall serve and the employee required to <br /> repay the trade will still be obligated. If an employee <br /> is required to repay a trade and becomes ill, sick leave <br /> will serve. <br /> . 35.5 - If the employee scheduled to work the initial trade.date <br /> • • receives a job- related injury and is. incapable of <br /> reporting to work, the trade shall be canceled if <br /> notification to the employee scheduled to be off -duty is <br /> • possible. If not, injury on duty will serve and the <br /> employee scheduled to repay the trade will still be <br /> obligated. If the employee scheduled to repay the trade <br /> is injured on -the -job and, cannot report for duty, <br /> injury on duty will serve. <br /> 35.6 when an employee involved in a trade is placed cn modified <br /> • duty as a result of a job- related injury, that trade shall <br /> be processed in the same manner as injury on duty. When <br /> an employee involved in a trade is placed on modified duty - <br /> as a result of an off- the -job injury or illness, that <br /> trade shall be processed in the same manner as sick leave. • <br /> 35.7 No trade will be permitted if either member is scheduled <br /> to be off on vacation. <br /> 35.8 The following administrative procedure will apply for <br /> employees making an exchange of duty assignment; SLFD Form <br /> A -3 shall be made cut in triplicate and forwarded to the <br /> battalion chief through channels with appropriate - <br /> signatures. Form A -3 must be made in the battalion <br /> chief's office at least 24 hours before the first trade <br /> date. Less than 24 hours will be allowed in emergency <br /> situations with the on -duty battalion chief's approval. <br /> • Termination of an approved trade or changes in one or <br /> more of the dates must be accomplished by using new Form • <br /> A -3. A trade (standby) of four (4) hours or less is <br /> permissible without the submission of a SLFD For A -3, but <br /> • must have the verbal approval of the requesting member's <br /> company officer. Three -way trades will not be permissible <br /> • except in emergency situations. It is the responsibility <br /> of the requesting members to see that their positions are <br /> filled by members who are capable and willing to accept <br /> the responsibilities of the positions. A trade will not • <br /> be considered approved until both members have a properly <br /> signed and authorized copy of Form A -3 in their <br /> possession. <br /> • <br /> -33- <br /> 257 <br />
