• • • <br /> (1) Employees will divide temporary platoon change <br /> .assignments on a rotational basis. Rotation <br /> • assignments will be based on seniority and be divided <br /> • as equally as possible between the least senior <br /> personnel on that platoon. Probationary employees <br /> who have not completed station rotation assignments <br /> will be excluded. <br /> (2) Department will not transfer employee for less than <br /> • . one shift. <br /> • <br /> (3) when an employee is transferred from one platoon to <br /> • another, such transfer shall be for a mini Mum of <br /> eighteen (18)•calendar days. <br /> • <br /> (4) An emoloyee will be transferred only when there is an <br /> • actual need for overtime. <br /> d. Temporary transfers being made from one station to another <br /> for the purpose of balancing the on -duty strength from • <br /> day -to -day shall be the responsibility of the Battalion <br /> Chief. <br /> • <br /> e. • In all other cases, seniority rights will be observed. <br /> Except as outlined in Section 1.a. <br /> f. Whenever a vacancy occurs for a given peermanent station <br /> assignment, a notice of such vacancy shall be sent out by <br /> the Fire Chief in the for of a departmental memo. <br /> Individuals desiring to transfer to fill the vacancy rust <br /> submit their request through channels to their platoon <br /> Battalion Chief by the closing time and date on the <br /> notice. Personnel absent from the department during the <br /> time that a vacancy notice is posted shall be responsible <br /> for authorizing their company officer to submit their <br /> request by proxy. <br /> • <br /> g. If one or more vacancies occur at the same time, personnel <br /> desiring to transfer shall be entitled to request their <br /> first, second and third choices on one departmental memo; <br /> in each case specifying the number of their choices. <br /> h. In the event an individual used his seniority for <br /> transfer, he shall not be entitled to use his seniority <br /> for transfer or make a mutual transfer until 12 months has <br /> . expired from the last date of work assignment. <br /> i. If a person's bid has been rejected, the bidding will then <br /> be continued by the next person on the list. the reason <br /> for rejection shall be provided in writing in• accordance <br /> with the procedure outlined in Section 1.c. above. <br /> j.
