File Number: 13-147 <br />This project will reconstruct San Leandro Boulevard from Williams Street to Hudson Lane. <br />Curb ramps will be installed along the project limits to meet current Americans with Disabilities <br />Act (ADA) standards. <br />This segment of San Leandro Boulevard was selected based on information from the City’s <br />Pavement Management System. OBAG is federally funded, so the streets selected for these <br />funds must be eligible for federal grants, which are typically for collector and arterial streets, <br />for which San Leandro Boulevard qualifies. The project, together with paving performed as <br />part of the BART Pedestrian Interface project and past construction near Washington Avenue , <br />will complete the pavement rehabilitation on San Leandro Boulevard between Washington <br />Avenue and Davis Street . <br />The estimated project cost including design, construction, and construction administration is <br />$1,548,000. <br />Previous Actions <br />·On February 4, 2013, by Resolution No. 2013-018, the City Council adopted a resolution <br />for a Complete Streets Policy for regional and county funding requirements <br />Applicable General Plan Policies <br />·14.04 Accommodation of Bicycles and Pedestrians <br />·16.03 Street Maintenance <br />·18.05 Funding <br />·19.01 Street and Building Design <br />Environmental Review <br />Environmental clearance will be filed for this project if and before construction is scheduled to <br />commence. <br />Fiscal Impacts <br />The estimated project cost is $1,548,000. The OBAG LSR grant will provide $804,507 toward <br />the project. The required matching funds of $104,232.41 and the supplemental funds of <br />$639,260.59 will be provided from Measure B Streets & Roads. <br />Budget Authority <br />The request for appropriation of grant funds and Measure B Streets and Roads funds for this <br />project is part of the Capital Improvement Program contained in the 2013-2015 Biennial <br />budget. <br />PREPARED BY: Kyle K.
