Minutes - San Leandro City Council Meeting - February 21, 1995 Page - 7 -
NEW BUSINESS (continued)
6.J. Matter of Term Expiration Dates for Boards and Commissions.
Council Member Perry said she is not in favor of changing term expirations
to the suggested pattern because 67% of the terms would expire every four
years versus 35% every two years. Council Member Kerr said he opposes the
change because people who were appointed to serve until 1995, 1996 or 1997
should not be cut back to 1994.
Council Member Myers said the Council Subcommittee felt the same way but
felt they must move forward with this now to get vacancies filled.
The following Ordinance and Resolution were then introduced:
Ordinance No. 95-04, An Ordinance of the City Council of the City of San
Leandro Amending Title I , Chapter 3, Section 1-3-115 of the San Leandro
Municipal Code Relating to Board and Commission Members (changes date of
term expiration for Boards and Commissions to September 1) . (1408)
Introduced by Council Member Myers, who moved that it be passed to print,
seconded by Council Member Polvorosa, with Council Members Perry and Kerr
voting no (2) , and carried by a majority vote (5) .
Resolution No. 95-26, Resolution Establishing Staggered Terms of Office for
Board and Commission Members (establishes Board and Commission Member
terms, except Youth Advisory Commission, to coincide with nominating
Council Member terms) . (1408/1495)
Introduced by Council Member Myers, who moved its adoption, seconded by
Council Member Galvan, with Council Members Perry and Kerr voting no (2) ,
and carried by a majority vote (5) .
A. Resolution Approving Final Subdivision Map for Tract 6724, Twenty-Six
Unit Residential Condominium Conversion at 433 Harlan Street (provides
for 26-unit, residential condominium conversion at 433 Harlan Street;
Developer - Harold G. Nelson) .
Bill Algire, Engineering and Planning Director, said the proposed
action is to approve a Final Subdivision Map for Track 6724, which is
in conformance with the Map Act and local ordinances. This approval
will confirm the January 17, approval of the Tentative Map.
The following Resolution was then introduced:
Resolution No. 95-27, Resolution Approving Final Subdivision Map for
Tract 6724, Twenty-Six Unit Residential Condominium Conversion at 433
Harlan Street (provides for 26-unit, residential condominium conversion
at 433 Harlan Street; Developer - Harold G. Nelson) . (2782)
Introduced by Council Member Galvan, who moved its adoption, seconded
by Council Member Polvorosa, and carried by a majority vote (7) .
