City Council Reports on Outside Agencies. <br /> • <br /> Council Member Perry reported on several agencies. She said she has <br /> been asked to serve on the ABAG Administrative Committee, which will do <br /> planning for next year's activities. She will serve on the East Bay <br /> Division of the League of California Cities committee for topics for <br /> upcoming conferences, and they have selected Strategic Plans and Shared <br /> Visions. She asked the City Council to advise her of specific issues <br /> of interest to them. The Committee on the Status of Women has begun <br /> looking at funding for Alameda County for Domestic Violence. She <br /> discussed a joint meeting of ACAP and the Alameda County PIC and said <br /> they are looking at the future of housing and low-cost housing, and the <br /> group has been asked by Alameda County to be the governing board that <br /> would evaluate all social service programs for the County. <br /> C. Approval of Work Session Items Requiring Action. <br /> The City Attorney asked if the Council wished to approve a motion <br /> regarding the deadline for the City Council to submit nominations <br /> related to Boards and Commissions. The City Council did not wish to do <br /> so. Council Member Perry suggested that Council Members provide the <br /> Mayor with information regarding potential nominees. <br /> D. Report on Closed Session Actions Taken. <br /> Steve Meyers, City Attorney, reported that no final action was taken. <br /> 8. PUBLIC HEARINGS <br /> A. Matter of A-94-11 , Rezoning from RD (Residential Duplex) District to <br /> RM-1800 (Multi -Family Residential ) District; Rezoning of a 26-Unit <br /> Apartment Building; 433 Harlan Street; Harold G. Nelson, Applicant. <br /> This being the time and place for the Public Hearing on the above <br /> matter, Norm Weisbrod, Associate Planner, presented the staff report <br /> and described the proposed and current zoning. <br /> The Hearing was then opened to the public. <br /> Lou Filipovich, 15376 Laverne Drive, asked questions regarding property <br /> taxes and said the Residential Duplex designation should be removed. <br /> There being no further comments from the public, on motion of Council <br /> Member Galvan, seconded by Council Member Polvorosa, and carried by a <br /> majority vote (7) , the Public Hearing was closed. <br /> In response to Council questions, Mr. Weisbrod said the proposed zoning <br /> makes this multi -family residential and legalizes the zoning for <br /> condominiums. <br />
