Minutes - San Leandro City Council Meeting - March 20, 1995 Page - 4 -
PUBLIC COMMENTS (continued)
Mayor Corbett noted that the City Council felt the travel agent
commission issue was not a Council issue. She said the City has asked
the Chamber of Commerce to work with Bayfair on their issues.
6. CONSENT CALENDAR
Consent Calendar items are typically routine in nature and are considered
for approval by the City Council with one single action. The City Council
may remove items from the Consent Calendar for purposes of discussion.
Items listed on the Consent Calendar are deemed to have been read by title.
Item 6.D. Council Member Kerr asked questions regarding parking on Wicks
Boulevard and closing off Elvira. Gary Kruger, Transportation
Administrator, said parking would be on both sides of Burkhart, and bike
lanes would still be provided on both sides of the street. He said, during
Junior League season, Community Services will have an attendant at the park
to lock the gate about half an hour before games begin to keep people from
parking on Elvira, and the gate will be unlocked after the games are over.
Item 6.E. Council Member Kerr asked if the City suffered losses in the
flood of January 1995. Pat McClellan explained that, when a national
disaster is Presidentially declared, cities can apply for funds to mitigate
future floods .
The Consent Calendar was approved as follows:
Introduced by Council Member Perry, who moved adoption of the Consent
Calendar, with all items deemed to have been read by title, seconded by
Council Member Myers, and carried by a majority vote (7) .
A. Minutes of the Special Joint Meeting of the City Council and the San
Leandro Redevelopment Agency of February 27, 1995.
B. Minutes of the meeting of March 6, 1995.
C.
