Minutes - San Leandro City Council Meeting - April 3, 1995 Page - 13 - <br /> PUBLIC HEARINGS (continued) <br /> The following Motion was then introduced: <br /> Minute Order No. 95-19, Matter of Appeal by R. Shih of the Board of <br /> Zoning Adjustments' Denial of V-94-5; Variance; to Reduce the Required <br /> Rear Yard Setback from 10 Feet to 5 Feet to Retain an Existing <br /> Addition, Which Includes a Family Room, Bedroom/Study and Bathroom; <br /> 14289 Santiago Road; Assessor's Parcel Number 80G-928-15; R. Shih; RS <br /> (Residential Single-Family) District. (1005) <br /> On motion by Council Member Galvan, who moved its approval , seconded by <br /> Council Member Loeffler, with Mayor Corbett and Council Member <br /> Polvorosa voting no (2) , Council Member Myers abstaining (1) , and <br /> carried by a majority vote (4) , the City Council granted the Appeal of <br /> V-94-5 and approved the Variance, subject to the preparation and <br /> approval by the City Council of Conditions of Approval , including <br /> compliance with all Building Codes and mitigation of impacts, as <br /> recommended by staff. <br /> 9. CITY COUNCIL COMMENTS <br /> A. Council Member Galvan said he enjoyed the tour of Ghirardelli Chocolate <br /> and suggested staff look into the suggestion made for a chocolate <br /> festival . <br /> B. The City Council discussed the matter of nominations to Boards and <br /> Commissions. <br /> Council Member Galvan said that, at the last meeting, there was <br /> consensus to turn in nominations for Boards and Commissions by March <br /> 24th. He turned his in, but others did not. <br /> Mayor Corbett said the City Attorney had suggested a motion on the <br /> deadline, but that was not done. <br /> Council Member Perry said she thought they had a gentlemen's agreement. <br /> Council Member Galvan said he understood it was clear they would meet <br /> the deadline. <br /> Council Member Myers agreed; he thought there was consensus. <br /> Council Member Galvan said he thought it wasn't necessary to make a <br /> motion but that they would all comply. He said there may be a need to <br /> make everything official in the future so it's clear and on the record. <br /> Council Member Perry said her recollection was that everyone would try <br /> to get appointments in as soon as possible so they could work together. <br />
