NEW BUSINESS
Items Removed from the Consent Calendar.
6A. Minutes of the Regular Meeting of April 17, 1995. Approved as submitted.
Council Member Loeffler moved to amend the Minutes to include a letter to
Board and Commission members, from himself, Council Member Polvorosa, and
Mayor Corbett, explaining that their vote did not reflect opposition to the
individuals nominated; they were in favor of the nominations. The Motion
failed for lack of a second.
Council Member Myers said all of the Council Members were in favor of the
nominees. He said the Minutes reflected the meeting; the letter would be
an addition to the Minutes, not an amendment.
Council Member Galvan said he had a problem with the letter because it is
to the Commissioners who were nominated by the Council , but is only from
the Mayor and two Council Members.
Mayor Corbett said the letter is intended to provide clarification of the
actions taken at the April 17th meeting.
Council Member Galvan said the Minutes were not incorrect and reflected the
meeting.
Council Member Perry said amending the Minutes would set a precedent. She
expressed concern with sending the letter from only three Council Members
and said the Council should work together as a team.
