Minutes - San Leandro City Council Meeting - June 19, 1995 Page - 7 - 8. PUBLIC HEARINGS A. Matter of Confirmation of Cost Assessments for Sidewalk Construction for the Davis West Neighborhood Improvement District, Alternate B - Concrete Repair, Project No. 94-144-8332-B. This being '-the time and place -for-the -Public Hearing on the above matter, Robert Rockett, City Engineer, gave the staff report. He said this was a special project to repair curbs, gutters, and sidewalks on specific streets. He said the purpose of the Hearing was to confirm assessments for the work. Ken Vogeney, Project Manager, showed before-and-after slides, described the improvements, and said the trees should be planted in July. He described other work performed' by the City, including new street signs, free dumpsters, etc. In response to Council questions, he compared original estimates to final quantities and costs. The Hearing was then opened to the public. Lou Filipovich, 15376 Laverne Drive, asked if there was a resolution saying no one could appeal . The City Attorney said this was an Appeal Hearing and, if the City Council confirmed the assessments, there is no further Appeal . Mr. Filipovich said the City Council does not have a right to withhold information. In response to Council questions, Mr. Vogeney explained the notification process, which included a series of public meetings starting in Spring of 1993, two Public Hearings before the City Council prior to construction, and Notice of tonight's Hearing by certified mail to each property owner. There being no further comments from the public, on motion of Council Member Loeffler, seconded by Council Member Galvan, with Mayor Corbett absent (1) , and carried by a majority vote (6) , the Public Hearing was closed. The following Resolution was then introduced: Resolution No. 95-124, Resolution Confirming Special Assessments, Cost of Sidewalk, Curb, and Gutter Construction for the Davis West Neighborhood Improvement District, Improvement Act of 1911 (confirms Report of the Superintendent of Streets and assesses the cost of repairs to the property owners) . (1073) Introduced by Council Member Myers, who moved its adoption, seconded by Council Member Polvorosa, with Mayor Corbett absent (1) , and carried by a majority vote (6) .
