"
Mayor Corbett said Mr. Morrow is an accomplished artist and thanked him
for his creation of "Chris the Turtle. "
5. PUBLIC COMMENTS
Public Comments are limited to 5 minutes per person. The public is invited
to make any comments related to Agenda items (including San Leandro
Redevelopment Agency, San Leandro Parking Authority, and San Leandro
Industrial Development Authority) or other items of public interest at this
time. Comments regarding Public Hearing items will be heard during the
Public Hearing portion of the Agenda.
A. Dana Johnson, 343 Farrelly Drive, congratulated Council Member Galvan
for seeing a way to get more funds for his proposal to amend the LAVWMA
agreement. He said this is beneficial to the City and won't harm the
City at all . He said he supported the proposal
B. Christine Scobee, 495 Fortuna Avenue, submitted a flyer announcing the
Broadmoor Neighborhood _Association's first Decorating and Home
Improvement Faire encouraging residents to fix up their homes and
highlighting San Leandro businesses. She expressed concern that
Council Member Galvan recommended sweeping changes related to East Bay
Dischargers Authority but had only served on the Authority for six
weeks. She said citizen input should be obtained regarding the
Livermore Amador Valley Water Management Agency matter.
C. Lou Filipovich, 15376 Laverne Drive, said the•-five-minute rule should
be waived because the agenda must describe each item and give a chance
to speak on any relevant topic. He does not support the City in
reference to LAVWMA; it is not for the benefit of the taxpayers and the
money should be put into painting houses that are more than seven
years old or owned by people 65 or older. He said people have a right
to watch the Council work, and he doesn't care if they scream at each
other. He said taxpayer equity is needed.
Mayor Corbett noted that a number of people in the audience wished to comment
regarding Mission Bay Mobile Home Park. She noted a public meeting would be held
on July 24, 1995, at the Community Library Center Lecture Hall and suggested
that, for purposes of the City Council meeting, spokepersons for the two groups
should speak. The members of the audience concurred.
