(1203) <br /> On motion by Council Member Polvorosa, who moved its approval , <br /> seconded by Council Member Galvan, and carried by a majority <br /> vote (7) , the City Council directed staff to proceed and to <br /> schedule a public meeting for September 18, 1995. <br /> E. Report on Closed Session Actions Taken. <br /> The City Attorney reported that no final action was taken. <br /> 10. CITY COUNCIL COMMENTS <br /> A. Council Member Perry congratulated the Library for an excellent <br /> Summer Reading Program, with 3,009 participants completing the <br /> program. <br /> Council Member Perry said the Jazz Concert at the Marina was a nice <br /> event despite the windy conditions. <br /> Council Member Perry said she and Debbie Potter taped a Tiempo <br /> Cable TV segment regarding Bayfair Mall ; she will get a tape. She <br /> noted Bayfair has a new General Manager. <br /> B. Council Member Polvorosa commended the Supreme Council of UPEC for <br /> their $1,000 donation for a bench at Root Park and hoped other <br /> organizations would also contribute. <br /> Council Member Polvorosa said cars are parking on front lawns in <br /> the Manor area on weekends. <br /> C. Vice Mayor Kerr said he would hold his comments on the Economic <br /> Development Conference, a sewage treatment plant he visited, and a <br /> Long Beach City Council meeting he attended, until the next <br /> meeting. <br /> Vice Mayor Kerr said Greenhouse Marketplace merchants will <br /> celebrate their 10th anniversary on September 23rd and 24th. <br /> Vice Mayor Kerr said he and Council Member Galvan attended the <br /> Bobby Sox game in San Diego and the girls did a fine job. He said <br /> the letter to the editor regarding the Optimist Club was in bad <br /> taste and was unwarranted. <br /> Vice Mayor Kerr said Jan Nichols of Sandev Mobile Home Park asked <br /> that the City Council have a committee on mobile home parks. He <br /> suggested an ad hoc committee. <br />
