Matter of Declaration by Planning Commission Members of Direct and <br /> Indirect Financial Interests in Property in the County of Alameda/City <br /> of San Leandro Joint Redevelopment Project Area, Commonly Known as the <br /> East 14th Street/Mission Boulevard/Lewelling Boulevard Redevelopment <br /> Project. <br /> The City Clerk stated that Declarations by Planning Commission Members <br /> of Direct and Indirect Financial Interests in Property in the County of <br /> Alameda/City of San Leandro Joint Redevelopment Project Area, Commonly <br /> Known as the East 14th Street/Mission Boulevard/Lewelling Boulevard <br /> Redevelopment Project, were on file with the City, as required by Code. <br /> 8. PUBLIC HEARINGS <br /> A. Matter of Increase in Real Property Transfer Tax. <br /> This being the time and place for the Public Hearing on the above <br /> matter, John Jermanis, Finance Director, said the Real Property <br /> Transfer Tax was one of several elements of the Vision Task Force. He <br /> said the Task Force put together a series of recommendations for <br /> revenue increases and service reductions. He said the City Council has <br /> adopted budget strategies for 1993-94, which reduce the budget by $1 .8 <br /> million and eliminate 29 positions. <br /> He said one element of the revenue program included an increase in the <br /> Real Property Transfer Tax. He said he anticipated it would bring in <br /> $1 . 1 million in 1993-94 and is one way to recoup the loss suffered from <br /> the State. <br />
