Matter of A-92-09; Zoning Code Amendmen t; <br /> Amends Zoning Code Regarding the Screening of Toxic Cleanup and Soil <br /> Remediation Activities Throughout San Leandro; Planning Commission <br /> Resolution of Intention 11-12-92. (1024) <br /> On motion by Council Member Corbett, who moved its approval , seconded <br /> by Council Member Myers, and carried by the following called vote, the <br /> City Council approved A-92-9 and directed staff to prepare an <br /> ordinance. <br /> AYES: Council Members Corbett, Kerr, Myers, Perry, Polvorosa; <br /> Mayor Faria ( 6 ) <br /> NOES: None ( 0 ) <br /> ABSENT: None ( 0 ) <br /> 9. CITY COUNCIL COMMENTS <br /> A. Council Member Myers congratulated the Task Force. He said he was <br /> proud of the way the budget process was handled and proud to have <br /> citizen input. He congratulated staff for their good work. <br /> B. Council Member Corbett spoke regarding graffiti and suggested staff <br /> look into joint agreements with other agencies whose facilities are <br /> continually graffitied, such as bus benches, BART pillars, newspaper <br /> boxes, and mail boxes. She asked for a report on what could be done to <br /> remove graffiti in those areas under the City's ordinance. <br /> C. Council Member Kerr said the Congestion Management Agency and the <br /> Alameda County Transportation Authority would be honoring Mayor Dave <br /> Karp this Thursday at 3:15 p.m. in the BART Offices in Oakland in a <br /> joint meeting. He said they wanted to do more than just adjourn the <br /> meeting in his honor because he was so active in transportation. <br /> D. Council Member Kerr said he received a complaint that the driveway of <br /> the rifle range at the end of Davis is blocked on Saturdays because of <br /> the backup into the garbage area. He said they are requesting "Keep <br /> Clear" signs, and he said the same problem happens with the Water <br /> Pollution Control Plant. He said the contact person is John Rothrock, <br /> 638-9605. <br /> E. Council Member Kerr said the printing business at 14251 East 14th <br /> Street complained that people cannot get into their parking lot because <br /> there is an island with a double-double and people get tickets for <br /> crossing it. He said they requested that, when the street is redone by <br /> the State, something be done about this. <br />
