Matter of A-92-09; Zoning Code Amendmen t; Amends Zoning Code Regarding the Screening of Toxic Cleanup and Soil Remediation Activities Throughout San Leandro; Planning Commission Resolution of Intention 11-12-92. (1024) On motion by Council Member Corbett, who moved its approval , seconded by Council Member Myers, and carried by the following called vote, the City Council approved A-92-9 and directed staff to prepare an ordinance. AYES: Council Members Corbett, Kerr, Myers, Perry, Polvorosa; Mayor Faria ( 6 ) NOES: None ( 0 ) ABSENT: None ( 0 ) 9. CITY COUNCIL COMMENTS A. Council Member Myers congratulated the Task Force. He said he was proud of the way the budget process was handled and proud to have citizen input. He congratulated staff for their good work. B. Council Member Corbett spoke regarding graffiti and suggested staff look into joint agreements with other agencies whose facilities are continually graffitied, such as bus benches, BART pillars, newspaper boxes, and mail boxes. She asked for a report on what could be done to remove graffiti in those areas under the City's ordinance. C. Council Member Kerr said the Congestion Management Agency and the Alameda County Transportation Authority would be honoring Mayor Dave Karp this Thursday at 3:15 p.m. in the BART Offices in Oakland in a joint meeting. He said they wanted to do more than just adjourn the meeting in his honor because he was so active in transportation. D. Council Member Kerr said he received a complaint that the driveway of the rifle range at the end of Davis is blocked on Saturdays because of the backup into the garbage area. He said they are requesting "Keep Clear" signs, and he said the same problem happens with the Water Pollution Control Plant. He said the contact person is John Rothrock, 638-9605. E. Council Member Kerr said the printing business at 14251 East 14th Street complained that people cannot get into their parking lot because there is an island with a double-double and people get tickets for crossing it. He said they requested that, when the street is redone by the State, something be done about this.
