Matter of CU-93-10/V-93-5; Appeal by Jerome B. Porter of the Board of Zoning Adjustments' Approval of CU-93-10/V-93-5; Conditional Use; to Remodel and Expand the Rear Single-Family Home on a Parcel in the 0 (Outer Residential ) District with Less-Than-the- Minimum 60 Feet of Width (57.61 Feet) ; Variance; to Provide 10 Feet Rather Than the Minimum Separation of 20 Feet Between the Two Single- Family Homes on the Site and to Provide a Side Yard of 5 Feet on the North Side of the Home and 3 Feet on the South Side of Rear Home in Lieu of a 10-Foot Side Yard for an Additional Dwelling; 13025 Neptune Drive; Assessor's Parcel Number 79A-560-7; William and Rose Marie Carash; 0 (Outer Residential ) District. Exempt per CEQA Guidelines, Article 19, Section 15303 (a) . (1098) On motion by Council Member Myers, who moved its approval , seconded by Council Member Kerr, and carried by the following called vote, the City Council denied the appeal of CU-93-10/V-93-5. AYES: Council Members Corbett, Kerr, Myers, Nahm, Perry, Polvorosa; Mayor Faria ( 7 ) NOES: None ( 0 ) ABSENT: None ( 0 ) Council Member Kerr said he was impressed with Mulford Garden Improvement Association's comments. He said he is also against issuing so many Variances, but this would be a great improvement to the area. He said he does not like to bend the law. Wandzia Grycz-Hernandez, Acting Assistant City Manager, requested that, if at any time the City Council is displeased with the level of staff work, they should bring this matter to her or to the City Manager's attention, and it will be resolved. 9. CITY COUNCIL COMMENTS A. Council Member Myers said the Marina Faire Homeowners Association Picnic would be held this weekend at 1 :00 p.m. B. Council Member Myers said he received a call from some School Board Members regarding his comments on June 14. He said the School Board is willing to work with the Council , and he suggested having staff mail them a copy of all of the City's activities, and they will send their materials to the City. He said everyone has to work together. C. Council Member Corbett said she visited Mr. Hilton and he was doing very well . She said he thanked everyone for their cards and prayers and said he is already planning some community things he wants to get involved in.
