Council Member Corbett asked if a meeting was going to be scheduled <br /> with the neighborhood surrounding City Hall regarding the renovation. <br /> She said she saw a flyer regarding the groundbreaking but wanted to <br /> know when the meeting would be held. <br /> E. Council Member Corbett spoke regarding the comments made during the <br /> evening regarding a City employee and his level of work. She said <br /> there is nothing that indicates Mr. Weisbrod did not do a fine job in <br /> putting the material together and nothing that indicates any <br /> impropriety. <br /> F. Council Member Kerr said staff has done an excellent job, as they <br /> usually do on zoning matters. <br /> G. Council Member Kerr congratulated Bill McCammon on his appointment as <br /> Chief of the Consolidated Fire District. He said this speaks well of <br /> San Leandro. He noted the newspapers discussed the consolidation as if <br /> it is inevitable that San Leandro will join. He said the City does not <br /> even have the report yet, and no decision has been made. <br /> H. Council Member Kerr said there is graffiti at Washington Manor Park. <br /> He said at Future Tots, 963 Manor Boulevard, vandals have scratched the <br /> windows. He said a 15-year-old boy was caught doing this. He said the <br /> Police Department has done an outstanding job on graffiti . <br /> I . Council Member Perry said she has been having discussions with Janet <br /> Plankenhorn, Chair of the School Board, on keeping each other informed. <br /> She said they will update each other on activities. She said the <br /> School Board and the City have done great things together and need to <br /> continue that tradition. She said they will work more on developing <br /> mutual information. <br /> J. Council Member Perry said the Bancroft Area Neighborhood Association <br /> adopted the Grand Avenue exit and cleaned it up. She said Evergreen <br /> Nursery will provide about 300 plants, which will be planted in the <br /> area to beautify it. <br /> K. Council Member Perry said Mr. Collier had mentioned the need for <br /> positive youth activities. She said the Oakland A's Police Athletic <br /> League opened, and this activity is in addition to the Second Season's <br /> sports group. She said this is a wonderful event. <br /> L. Council Member Nahm spoke regarding fire incidents in the area above <br /> Chabot Park in the area of the dam. He said he has seen mutual <br /> response at work and is convinced it is a great thing. He said, when <br /> you see all of the engines come in and hear about additional vehicles <br /> ready to come in, it is very gratifying and reassuring. He thanked the <br /> Fire Department for their wisdom and vision. <br />
