Resolution No. 93-170, Resolution Rejecting Bids for Victoria Circle <br /> and Bancroft Avenue/Dutton Avenue Improvements, Project No. 92-8625 <br /> (rejects Bid received on July 13, 1993) . (2740) <br /> Introduced by Council Member Corbett, who moved its adoption, seconded <br /> by Council Member Myers, and carried by the following called vote: <br /> AYES: Council Members Corbett, Kerr, Myers, Nahm, Perry, Polvorosa; <br /> Mayor Faria ( 7 ) <br /> NOES: None ( 0 ) <br /> ABSENT: None ( 0 ) <br /> B. Resolution Approving Plans and Specifications and Calling for Bids for <br /> Victoria Circle and Bancroft Avenue/Dutton Avenue Improvements, Project <br /> No. 92-8625 (provides for landscape improvements at Victoria Circle and <br /> installation of banner and trees along Bancroft Avenue) . <br /> Council Member Corbett said this matter has gone before the North Area <br /> in public meetings, particularly before the North Area Business <br /> Association. She said the banners and the trees have been well <br /> received, and the Association has asked for the go-ahead on this <br /> project. She said the project should proceed, but staff should ensure <br /> trees are not blocking the banners. <br /> The following Resolution was then introduced: <br /> Resolution No. 93-171, Resolution Approving Plans and Specifications <br /> and Calling for Bids for Victoria Circle and Bancroft Avenue/Dutton <br /> Avenue Improvements, Project No. 92-8625 (provides for landscape <br /> improvements at Victoria Circle and installation of banner and trees <br /> along Bancroft Avenue) . Resolution Rescinding Resolution No. 93-126 and Awarding Contract to <br /> Wingard Engineering for East 14th Street Light Improvements, Phase I, <br /> Project No. 92-8356 (recommends rescinding award of contract to Willie <br /> Electric Company, Inc. , for failure to provide appropriate bonds and <br /> insurance and recommends award of contract to Wingard Engineering for <br /> bid amount of $505,949.25) . <br /> Steve Meyers, City Attorney, said Engineering staff recommended that <br /> this matter be continued indefinitely. <br />
