He said the property owners just do not pay, and none of these charges are over a year old. Council Member Myers asked if there is any interest charged on these liens. Mr. Jermanis said late payment charges amount to 9% per year. He said the amounts of the delinquent charges have not gone up. He said the County will not assess any interest charges when these become tax liens. He said the City will receive its money from these in December and in April . Council Member Myers asked what would happen if one of the businesses went bankrupt. Mr. Jermanis said the amount would be a lien on the property. The Hearing was then opened to the public. There being no comments from the public, on motion of Council Member Nahm, seconded by Council Member Myers, and carried unanimously, the Public Hearing was closed. The following Resolution was then introduced: - Resolution No. 93-178, Resolution Confirming Reports of the Finance Director and Development Services Director, Imposing Liens for Non- Payment of Delinquent City Service Charges, Sewer/Refuse Service, Business License Fees, Weed Abatement Charges, and Community Preservation Nuisance Abatement Charges. (1221/1078/1203/1197) Introduced by Council Member Kerr, who moved its adoption, seconded by Council Member Myers, and carried by the following called vote: AYES: Council Members Corbett, Kerr, Myers, Nahm, Perry, Polvorosa; Mayor Faria ( 7 ) NOES: None ( 0 ) ABSENT: None ( 0 ) 10. CITY COUNCIL COMMENTS A. Council Member Myers spoke regarding the restrooms at Marina Park. He said the Marina Faire Homeowners Association Picnic was held there, and people said the restrooms were in poor condition early in the day. B. Council Member Myers noted that two of his neighbors had brown water coming from their faucets and found out the Fire Department was flushing out hydrants. He said people should be notified or the Council should be informed when this will be occurring. C. Council Member Myers asked what the status was of the house on Jamaica Street.
